Fredrik Ericsson

After his first decade in the sport of cycling, which led to an insatiable thirst for knowledge about the art of cycling and a desire to pass this on to other cyclists, he founded a company called Toppfysik in January 2003 which evolved into D-VELO-P in 2025.

Over the last 20+ years some of his proteges have taken their first tentative steps into the sport, while others have gone on to win gold medals at the National-, Continental- and World Championships, and Olympic Games, in cyclocross, mountain biking, road cycling and track cycling.

Fredrik holds a master's degree in sports physiology, a bachelor's degree in sports pedagogy, and has co-authored several research articles. Feel free to download his 2009 masters thesis “Current methods, concepts and theories regarding mobile power meters in cycling”.

Between 2007 and 2017, he was a regular contributor on all things training for the magazine Kadens and subsequently Bicycling. In 2016, he published his first book, Cykelträning – träningslära för landsväg och MTB.

From 2010 to 2012, he was the Swedish mountain biking national team manager and served as the head coach for MTB at the London 2012, Rio de Janeiro 2016, and Tokyo 2020 (2021) Olympic Games. Since 2018, he has spent half of his time at Dala Sports Academy, a training environment for elite athletes in cycling, orienteering, track & field and XC-skiing.

His own career as a competitive cyclist, that spanned from 1993 to 2014, he raced cyclocross, road, mountain biking and track. His palmares includes over 20 Swedish Championship medals, top 20 results at World Championships, and victories in classic Scandinavian races such as CykelVasan and Birkebeinerrittet.
